ATP Outdoor Test
The FieldSwab is a room-temperature stable hygiene swab uniquely engineered for outdoor and field applications. Results in 30 seconds. Suitable for truck wash stations, cooling towers, worker hygiene compliance, fresh produce and harvesting/transport equipment. Fully integrates into Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) programs.
Patented thread design for consistent user-to-user results, pre-moistened swab with biofilm-breaking tip, metal-detectable foil seal and Luciferin/Luciferase in stable tablet for uniform dosage. Stable at 2–25°C for 12 months. Extenders of 0.9 m and 4.9 m available for hard-to-reach areas.

Performing the FieldSwab ATP test in outdoor environments with the novaLUM® II-X
Step-by-step test procedure — FieldSwab
Follow the steps for preparation, sampling, activation and measurement.

Open PLANS
Tap PLANS on the novaLUM II-X home screen.

Choose sampling plans
Select PLANS again to open the list of saved sampling plans.

Start the correct plan
Select RUN next to the sampling plan for this test.

Select the sampling location
Use the left/right arrows or list view to select the correct location. Check the FS screen code. Enter operator details if required.
- At the sampling location
Withdraw the swab at the sampling location
Move the test to the sampling location with the holder closed. Only there, immediately before sampling, gently withdraw the swab with a slight twisting motion. Do not touch the swab tip.

Sample the surface
Swab an area of 100 cm². Rotate the handle during sampling so the whole swab tip contacts the surface.
- Activate
Reinsert and activate
Reinsert the swab and twist the handle fully down. Gently shake sideways 3 times. Piercing the foil activates the dry tablets; the white tablet breaks apart.

Remove the black microcap
Remove the black microcap only after activation, immediately before inserting the test into the novaLUM II-X.
- Measure & assess
Insert the test and measure
Insert the FieldSwab fully into the measurement chamber. Hold the novaLUM II-X upright and press the Run Test icon to start the measurement.

This manufacturer procedure specifies 5 seconds. Assess PASS/FAIL against your configured limit. The screen shown displays an example result.
