How ATP testing works with a bioluminometer
The novaLUM II-X measurement takes 5 seconds. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is present in all living cells — bacteria, food residues and other biological contaminants. The bioluminometer measures the amount of light released when ATP reacts with luciferin and luciferase. The more light (RLU), the more contamination.
Wipe the surface with the PocketSwab Plus. The swab picks up biological residues.
Insert the swab into the novaLUM II-X luminometer. Result in 5 seconds.
The system compares the RLU result against your set limit and immediately gives a pass or fail.
On a fail result: re-clean and re-test. Data is automatically saved and synced to the cloud.

PMT sensor: laboratory quality in the field
The novaLUM II-X uses a Photomultiplier tube (PMT) – the same technology as scientific laboratories. Competitors use cheaper photodiodes. The result: 10× higher sensitivity, wider temperature range and more reliable detection of low ATP values. Higher price, superior results.
